camping!!

Austin had his first Boy Scout Campout last weekend! Shawn decided to go along and took Ty with him too! They had a blast! My boys out in nature....they just love it...they feel right at home! :) Shawn took the camera to capture some of the fun! They had hot dogs and smores, hung their wet socks in the campfires!...stayed up most of the night causing all the adults grief!...doing just what 11 yr old boys do! Ty suffered some injuries but none that he couldn't handle..someone didn't see Ty behind them and swung a hot metal stick {one for roasting marshmellows} and got him on the forehead! He came home with a few war wounds but he loved it...and was so glad he got to camp with his dad!
Also that night Kailee got to go to her friends house and have a sleepover...so Kyler and I got to have a mom and Kyler night. Kyler choose all the stuff to do. We first went to Walmart to spend birthday $$...the only rule I was given was that I could not say "No you can't have that"...Kyler told me that he could buy whatever he wanted cuz it was his $$. So fair enough, he bought the game Whack-a-Mole...{clearly I stayed out of it} We bought the Bee Movie while we were there too. Then we went to an Easter Egg hunt that the city of Katy did. Kyler cleaned up...they had sooooo many eggs and the 5-6 yr old group wasn't that big. We went through all his eggs and besides all the candy, stickers and toys he got, he also found 2 golden tickets...so he went to the tent to cash in for his prizes and he got sidewalk chalk and a coloring book & crayons! :) He chose Texas Borders for dinner....we did take out and then went home, watched the movie, ate dinner, colored and played Whack-a-Mole. We had a super fun night!

Happy Birthday Kyler!!!

6 months old
1 yr old
2 yrs old

5 yrs old

My baby turned 5 today!!! I can't believe he is 5...it seems like he was just born!! :) What a sweet addition to our family he has been! I can't even begin to imagine our lives without Kyler. He is such a fun little boy! He is all about having fun....it doesn't matter what's going on...he turns it into fun. He loves to smile and laugh and I am grateful for that because he can always make us smile no matter what the mood might be! He loves to color and draw, write his name, the ABC's & 123's, he likes to listen to music and dance with me around the house or rock out in the car when we are running errands! He loves to play with his big brothers and he loves when Kailee tucks him in at night! He loves to say I love you and tries to "out love" you....like "I love you a billion plus one!" or "I love you infinity plus the last number there is!" Kyler is the best! Anyone that knows him knows what a special little guy he is!! Happy Birthday to my Kyler Jake!! :)

Kyler's field trip

Kyler went on a field trip this week with his school class! He went to Ceramics by Tess and the kids got to pick out a piece they wanted to paint! Kyler chose a pumpkin! He painted it Wiggle colors..yellow, purple, blue, & red. {did you think it would be an orange pumpkin!???} He did a great job...he was a super good listener to Miss Tess and all the instructions she gave. He was very careful and a good little painter! He is very excited to get his pumpkin back in a couple weeks! He also wants me to tell you about the hot oven his pumpkin has to go in. It is 1, 920 degrees! :) That was a very exciting part to him to hear how hot that oven is!! The last picture is his friend Sara...she has been in Kyler's class 2 years now...they are good little buddies....it was fun listening to them talk and giggle in the car on the way there and back!

The Zoo

The girls and Adam having lunch.
The boys table.

Kyler just giving Tyson some love...in front of the giraffes!
Tyson was a such a helper to Leah. He said that if she needed anything to just ask him because he is a baby expert! Clearly he is...look what a good job he is doing feeding Abigail! She seemed to enjoy his company too...I think by the end of the day Ty had talked Leah's ear off...he hardly left her side all day! He told me before we got to the zoo he was looking forward to seeing her the most (Leah) beacuz "we just have really good talks together, it starts out with one sentence and then we have a whole conversation!" :)
Kyler with his good buddy Adam...they were standing in front of the snake cage...Kyler is making his "snake" face!
Ty with the snake..of course cuz he is also a snake expert...needless to say the Reptile house was his favorite...not mine!!
Austin with his friend Josh...watching the elephants!

The kids had last Monday off of school and so we decided to head to Houston and go to the zoo! Our day was soooo fun! The weather was absolutely gorgeous...sunny, warm, not to hot and a nice breeze! The kids had a blast!!! We ended up going with some friends from our ward. We had lunch there...saw lots of animals...had snow cones...played on the toys...brushed the goats...did the petting zoo...played hide & seek...all sorts of fun stuff! We stayed the whole day...by the time we got home we all barely made it through showers and we dropped into bed! I even came away with a sunburn! {imagine that...today it's 30 and freezing outside}

The Rodeo

{don't ya love this picture! I love how he is looking in a totally different direction!!}
Ok...for those of you that know Ty he has such a way with words...sometimes the things that come out of his mouth make you think you are talking to a grown man not a 7 yr. old boy! He has quite the sense of humor too. So on Friday night we went to the Katy Rodeo. We had a blast...the kids loved it and I can't wait for next year! It's gonna be a new family tradition to attend the rodeo! Anyway...as we were leaving the kids stopped to look at some of the animals...mostly the cows they were close by. Kyler was mooing at them, Kailee and Austin were looking, and then I hear Ty talking, with no one else around so I walked a little closer and Ty says...to the cow..."I wonder how many hamburgers I could make out of you?" I about fell over! He wasn't even trying to be that funny...just actually wondering! So if anyone happens to know...Ty would love the answer!
Here are a few pictures of Kyler from the rodeo. You can buy a stickhorse and then be in the stickhorse races. They just let the kids run...it's pretty cute. Kyler decided he wanted to do that so...let me set the scene. Shawn is out of town, I am by myself at the rodeo...I tell the other 3 kids, don't go anywhere we will be right back, watch for us. I cannot fit into tennis shoes yet {foot still to swollen for them to be comfortable}, so I am wearing flip-flops! I know who wears flip-flops to the rodeo?...in February? {oh yeah it was about 45-50 degrees outside} BUT Kyler really wants to race so being the wonderful mom I am {I deserve a medal} I tromped out in the arena...up to my ankles in mud and whatever else the animals happened to leave behind so that Kyler can race his "horse"! He ran hard and guess what he won!!! Well, all the kids won! But Kyler thinks he won cuz he got a ribbon for participating and he didn't see any of the other kids get theirs...so as far as Kyler is concerned, and us too for that matter...Kyler won!!! After it was over we made our way to the bathroom so that I could wash a little of the mud {I would like to think it was just mud} off in the freezing cold water. The rodeo was fun...the kids also enjoyed watching the Mutton Bustin'...a little girl from our ward won! It was awesome!
