Piano

I found a piano!!! {whoop whoop} I was stalking Craiglist a few weeks ago and found one!!! I was sooo excited! The girl we bought it from said it used to be a player piano that was converted. It's antiquey and old with lots of character! That is what I really wanted! The key are old and worn which I love!! It plays great. I need to get it tuned, one pedal needs some attention and a few cosmetic touches here and there couldn't hurt either but other than that it is in pretty good shape.
The kids have had so much fun playing their music on it instead of the keyboard! Tyson sat down the other day and taught Kyler Mary Had a Little Lamb. He played it great after a few minutes....I figure he must be some kind of prodigy so I got him set up to take lessons too!! :)
I have always dreamt of having a piano and listening to the beautiful music that my kids would play!!! Sooooo happy to have it a reality!!!
{{{I have some cute ideas for above the piano too...can't wait to get started on them! The things that are on there now are just so it doesn't look so empty!!! You can bet that there will be some awesome vinyl involved too!!}}}

Boating on Lake Conroe

A few weeks ago I was chatting with my friend Leah and she mentioned that they were going to Lake Conroe to go boating and asked if we wanted to come. The words barely got out of my mouth when I was telling Shawn about it and it was a done deal! We rented a boat and a tube and had such a great time!! It was fun to go with the Daileys too!! It is beautiful up there. I can't believe we have lived here for 5 years and have never been up there! We already decided on the way home that we are going to do it at least once more before the summer is over! ---there are lots and lots of pics!

We did lots of swimming too...the kids loved jumping off of the boat into the water. It was a perfect day and the water was perfect for cooling off!

Shawn and Michael (I haven't really driven a boat before...it's not hard though...but I did have to be taught about being a driver AND a rider! I took these guys for a ride that was a little fast and bumpy!! I threw them both a few times! I didn't know...I apologized later! I felt really bad! Shawn said "Thank you for insuring that neither of us will have kids again!" {oops} Also I thought I was being so funny when Tyson said to me "Don't forget he is the bishop mom." and I said "Nope, not today!") Thanks for being good sports guys!

What a great day!! The kids couldn't stop talking about. They all fell asleep on the way home, even Shawners! We are all a little sore today and have some red faces but it was all completely worth it!

Frogs

I have to start this post by letting you all know that I am officially the nicest, most best mom ever!!!! I let Tyson bring home frogs, to my house!!! I am even letting them here!!!....on the counter!!! Anyone that knows me knows this is a leap of giant proportions!!! His teacher called at the end of the year and said he had done such a great job taking care of the these things in class that she wanted him to be able to have them! I completely caved at the sweet little smile of his and said ok!

After I was done taking pictures I did a little cleaning of my own! I bleached and scrubbed the sink, counters and any area in between!!

Tyson was soooo funny! He got quite a few awards this year! He was a great third grader!! He went up the stage a handful of times...the first time up he was getting an award for music. If you look at the picture you can see the look of "yeah, ok, give me my award I gotta keep goin" on his face. He seemed in such a hurry to get that handshake over with. It was pretty funny...it got a reaction out of most of the crowd, including Mr. Nash!

Tyson also got the Achievement award for all A's and B's for the whole year, he was one of the top ten readers in 3rd grade, he was chosen to go to the KISD Tech Fair {he did a power point presentation}, a certificate for learning all his fast facts and he got a science award too.Tyson and Ms. Abousteit

Austin and his best friend Tyler...we miss you Tyler {and the rest of the Welker clan} they moved to Arizona {without even asking if it was ok with us!!} but we were lucky to get to have Tyler stay with us an extra 2 weeks till school was out!

what a stinker...he would not smile, he just kept being silly!! Austin completed 7th grade on the Honor Roll and had one of the top 10 reading points in the 7th grade!! Way to go Austie!!!
