Wicked

Kailee and I have been anxiously waiting since last summer for the opportunity to go see Wicked!...and very, very anxiously since April when we bought our tickets!! It was soooooooooo good...I can't even describe it! What an amazing show and the talent was just oozing from the stage! It was so fun to go and see it with Kailee. I had fun sneaking a few peeks at her during the show and seeing her whole face just lit up!! She sat forward in her seat most of the night...she was so into it! I think 3 times during the show she turned to me and said "See why I want to do this Mom!!" We went with our good friends The Ravenberg girls! We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. {{yum!}} I can't wait until March when Kailee and I will get to see it again on Broadway in New York City!!!!!

When I got my tickets in April I posted on FB how excited I was, my friend Brian saw my post and said he had a friend on the Wicked Tour and would we like to go backstage after the show!! umm....YES!!!!!!!!!! Tony met us at the backstage door and took us to the stage and behind the scenes. He ROCKS!!! We saw all the props, costumes and inner workings of a production that size...it was incredible! We saw all the costumes up close {AMAZING} and we saw Elphaba's hat! Some of things he told us... {so I don't forget}
-there were over 2 million dollars just in hats!! He couldn't even guess at the money for the rest of the costumes!
-it took 14 million dollars to put this show together and take it out on tour
-it makes about 2 million dollars a week
-it's booked out till 2013
-they put absolutely everything they can in the air backstage and above the stage to save on space!
-it takes one full day to get it all set up and then another 8 hours or so to work out kinks and about 8 hours to tear it all down
-the tour travels with a physical therapist
-they have a fire marshal there every performance because they use real fire
-after leaving the show at 11:30 each night the crew are back at 8 in the morning to work again for the next night's show
-the cast and crew don't get "vacations"...they only can leave if they arrange it and make sure someone covers them while they are gone

AWESOME!!! Can't wait to actually see Kailee in one of her plays, what a great mom & daughter trip...I can't wait to hear about the New York trip! COOL! When my mom and I went to Lion King in Vegas we both said, "Wouldn't this be fun with Kailee?!" Maybe a future trip this way...
LOVE YOU ALL!
